Soft washes of color that bleed at the edges, the way watercolor behaves on real paper rather than a filter laid over a photo. Pigment pools where the brush slowed and lifts where it moved fast.

It's the gentlest of the styles, which is why it works for pets who are still here and for ones who aren't. The loose edges soften the whole piece without softening them: the markings on the chest, the set of the ears, the particular tilt of the head all stay exact. A watercolor pet portrait forgives the background, never the face.

Available on framed canvas or as a framed fine-art poster, in black, dark wood, natural wood or white, from 30 × 40 cm up to 60 × 80 cm. The matte paper of the framed poster carries the washes closest to the original medium.

Before you order

Will it actually look like my pet?
That is the whole job. The portrait has to show your animal's own markings and face, not a generic pet in a style. You see it before you pay, so you can compare it with your photo yourself. If it does not look like them, regenerate it, free, or don't order it.
What photo should I send?
One clear shot of their face, taken front on, in good daylight, with both ears fully inside the frame. Phone photos are fine. Avoid heavy shadow, motion blur, and anything shot from far away or from above.
Can I have two pets in one portrait?
Each portrait is made for one pet, so we can get their face exactly right. For two or more, order a portrait of each: two portraits are 10% off, three are 15%.
What if I don't like the preview?
Ask again. Regenerating is free, up to five times, and nothing is charged or printed until you approve a version.
How are the portraits made?
Your photo is turned into artwork by an image model. You see the result on the page before you order, and every order is checked before it goes to print. Nobody paints or draws it by hand, and we will not pretend otherwise. The care goes into the likeness: markings, ear shape and face, which you compare with your own photo before you order.
Will the print match my screen?
Closely, not exactly. A screen is lit from behind and a print is not, so colors on canvas and paper sit a little deeper and softer, most of all in dark backgrounds. Markings, details and composition stay the same.
When will it arrive?
