Your photo and the preview

What photo works best?
One clear photo of their face, taken front on at your pet's eye level rather than from standing height, with both ears fully inside the frame. Daylight rather than flash, and light coming from the side does more than flat front-on light, especially on a dark coat where the features can otherwise disappear into the fur. The face should fill a good part of the frame, with both eyes open and visible. It does not need to be a posed or professional photo.

Can I try more than one style or photo before I decide?
Yes, up to 5 free tries before you buy anything.

How are the portraits made?
Your photo is turned into artwork by an image model. You see the result on the page before you order, and every order is checked before it goes to print. Nobody paints or draws it by hand, and we will not pretend otherwise. The care goes into the likeness: markings, ear shape and face, which you compare with your own photo before you order.

What happens if the preview doesn't generate?
Try again. If it still doesn't work, contact us and we'll sort it out.

Is my photo stored securely, and for how long?
If you order, we keep your photo and the finished artwork for 90 days after delivery, so we can reprint if anything arrives damaged. After that both are deleted. If you generate a portrait and don't order, your photo is deleted after 7 days. You can ask us to delete your photo sooner at any time.

Pet Memorial Portraits

My only photo is old or blurry. Can it still be used?
Use it. You will see what can be made from it before you spend anything, which is the honest answer to this question rather than a promise either way. Older photos, scans and phone pictures taken years ago all work to varying degrees. If the first result is not right, generate it again or try a different style.

Can I add their name to the artwork?
Yes. You can add their name when you set up the portrait, and you will see it in place on the artwork before you order, so you can check the spelling and how it sits in the composition.

Which style suits a memorial portrait?
Three tend to. Classical oil carries the weight of a traditional painted portrait. Charcoal holds a face in plain monochrome without dressing it up. Watercolor is the softest of the three. There is no wrong answer here, and you can look at more than one before deciding.

Orders and delivery

When am I charged?
At checkout, after you've seen your portrait and chosen the version you want. Generating and regenerating is free, and nothing is charged while you're deciding.

How long do production and delivery take?
Most orders are produced and delivered within 5-6 working days. Larger sizes and some destinations take longer.

Do you ship to my country?
We ship free to 33 countries: the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, most of Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Israel and the Gulf states. The full list is in our shipping policy.

What happens if my frame or print arrives damaged?
Contact us within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange a free reprint or a refund. Send photos of the damaged piece and the packaging it arrived in, including the outside of the box, before you throw anything away. That's what we need to process it quickly.

About Pet Memorial Portraits

A portrait to remember them by. You can add their name to the artwork if you want it there.

Three styles suit this best. Classical oil, for the weight of a traditional painted portrait. Charcoal, which holds a face in plain monochrome without dressing it up. Watercolor, which is the softest of the three.

Whatever photo you have is the photo we work from. It does not need to be a good one. If the only picture you have is slightly blurred or taken from an odd angle, use it anyway, and you will see honestly what can be made from it before you commit to anything.

You see the finished portrait before you decide. Take whatever time you need with it, and if it isn't right yet, it can be made again. You only order once it's the one you want to keep.

Printed on cotton canvas or as a framed fine-art poster, in black, dark wood or natural wood, from 30 x 40 cm up to 60 x 80 cm.
